When setting goals for this year’s Texas Hold ‘Em benefit , the All-In To Fight Cancer committee aimed high, hoping to double the funds raised in 2012. And indeed they did — raising nearly $80,000 with the help of generous sponsors and friends and partners and clients.
Our friend, Ben Levenbaum, the president and COO of Xceleration, of Atlanta, Georgia, took home the grand prize — a $5,000 buy-in to the World Series of Poker. The way we see it, though, everyone who attended or contributed was a winner, because All-In used the proceeds to make substantial donations to three local groups that work with cancer patients and their families, The Go Jen Go Foundation, The Presbyterian Cancer Center Nurse Navigator Program, and 24 Hours of Booty.
So what do you think? Should the committee set its sights on $160,000 in 2014? With your help, we’re willing to bet on it!
